Instant access to Applications You Want

RocketDockIt's my favorite.  It's Mac OSx, it's PC ingenuity, it's right there all the time, and it ROCKS.  RocketDock is top on my list for getting things done quick.  Make 3 or 4 clicks become 1.  If you do it enough, it adds up.

Not to mention that RocketDock has an amazingly versatile interface that allows you to add plugins (!), has a very decent list of available plugins online (!!), allows you to customize your icons to the extreme, move the dock around the screen, autohide it, change the hovering text style, color, transparency, has extensive themes, etc., … and it just looks damn cool.

"What is it?" You ask.  Simply put, it's a menu.  On adrenaline pumped steroids while drinking RedBull and Vodka.  I think the best use of it is as your Start Menu "most used items", and RocketDock allows you to get there within a click.

True story.  It's happened to me several times.  I'm on a job site working (I'm by trade a programmer/engineer), and I'm working with a client and I need to get to Program A and B and C quickly, make changes on each and move on.  So I snap my fingers on the mouse an eight of an inch and *click*.  BAM.  I'm where I need to be now.  The customer asks "what was that?" … "Are you on a Mac?"  or, "How did you change the OS like that?", or is that the "New Windows?"   No, Man, It's RocketDock.

So then later on when I have to go back to these sites to make programming changes (you know, ver 2) or add something they want new, or do a different job for them, I suddenly see a good half of the desktops have RocketDock on them (they must not know how useful autohide is on any popup bar).  And I just have to smile cause I know they'll probably never work without it again.  I don't.  It's the first thing I put on a new machine.

Check out this quick video showing a few of Rocketdock's features and you'll see what I mean:

And RocketDock is completely free … you can get it from the RocketDock Homepage, <opens new tab or window> as well as all the plugins, icons, and other goodies that the community and Punk Software provides.
